Like any other spring native to a stock vehicle, the factory Sway Bar is nearly immobile. Conversely, it’s the most neglected spring on the vehicle as people fail to look past the front coils and rear springs when looking to soften the factory ride. Well, the factory sway bar is essentially a brace locking the axle to the frame. What does this mean. What you hit with one tire is immediately transferred to the other tire and into the frame causing a high frequency reverberation or chatter felt in the cab. If you have ever hit a manhole cover on the driver’s side tire and felt a shake in the entire truck or you have ever entered an off-camber driveway and smacked your head on the window – you can thank the factory sway bar. Truth be told, it’s responsible for many of the small-bump compliance gripes thanks to immobility. The arms are constructed of doubled and welded 3/8 Inch cold-rolled steel – 3/4 Inch thick at clamp area. The arms are locked to the bar by our in-house machined 17-4 stainless preload washers and Grade 8 pinch Bolts. The bar itself is a custom rate, heat treated torsion bar passing through fabricated brackets that house our extreme duty, service free bushings. Finishing off the assembly are Sway Bar End Links featuring legendary FK Bearing 5/8 Inch Heat-Treated, Chromoly Race Heims. This bar is designed to work with 0-4 Inch lift systems. In typical Carli fashion, there are no disconnects on the end links nor multiple holes in the bar to change the leverage applied. This bar is refined to work in conjunction with our custom tuned suspensions to throw an exponent on the ride quality. The rate is set, the bar will not hinder articulation justifying a disconnect. The Rate is the perfect balance splitting control and comfort – install and enjoy.
